Attempted attack thwarted in Judea and Samaria: Two terrorists attempted a combined ramming and shooting attack against IDF soldiers near the Tapuach Junction. According to an initial military investigation, the gunmen first opened fire at an army post before fleeing in their vehicle toward the junction and attempting to ram soldiers.
The soldiers responded with fire and neutralized the terrorists. Both assailants were shot dead. No IDF injuries were reported.
IDF issues evacuation warning and begins strikes in Beirut: The IDF issued an evacuation warning for a building in the Bashoura neighborhood of central Beirut ahead of an airstrike against Hezbollah.
“Urgent warning to the residents of Beirut, specifically the Bashoura neighborhood. You are located near a facility belonging to the Hezbollah terror organization, which the IDF will act against,” said army spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee, attaching a map showing the building.
Civilians were instructed to distance themselves at least 300 meters from the site. Shortly afterward, the IDF began a wave of strikes targeting Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure across Beirut and southern Lebanon.
The Israeli Air Force also struck a launcher in southern Lebanon that had fired toward the western Galilee a short while earlier.
殺 Chief of Staff reinforces northern sector during command visit: IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir visited the Northern Command on Thursday together with Northern Command head MG Rafi Milo and additional senior commanders, where he conducted a situational assessment and received an operational briefing on developments over the past several days.
Following the assessment, Zamir instructed that additional troops, intelligence officers, and operational capabilities be reinforced and deployed to the northern sector.
Zamir said Israel is fighting Iran and its regional proxies on multiple fronts and stressed that the defense against Hezbollah is a central front. He said operational decisions are made daily with the primary consideration being the security of the State of Israel and its civilians, particularly residents of the north.
According to the Chief of Staff, despite hundreds of launches fired toward Israel during the night, only two projectiles struck Israeli territory. He described the outcome as a significant operational achievement, saying most missile launchers were thwarted, dozens of Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated, and multiple headquarters and infrastructure sites, including targets in Beirut, were struck.
Zamir also confirmed that Israeli forces located and eliminated the commander of the Iranian Imam Hossein Division along with his deputy and additional senior staff members.
Following the strike in Beirut’s Dahieh district, many Hezbollah operatives reportedly fled to other locations in the city and embedded themselves within civilian areas.
The Chief of Staff said Hezbollah made a serious mistake and will continue to pay a heavy price. He added that because the Lebanese government is not enforcing its authority within its territory, Israel will act to ensure the security of its citizens.
Zamir said the IDF will review the decisions made during the previous night’s events and that if mistakes occurred, responsibility ultimately rests with him. He concluded that the operation in the north will not be short and that the IDF will continue reinforcing forces and capabilities while maintaining determined operations against Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed threats.
