IRANIAN MISSILE BARRAGE DURING PASSOVER: Iran launched over 20 ballistic missiles at Israel in the past day, marking an uptick in the rate of fire compared to recent weeks. Around half were intercepted, while the others were allowed to hit open areas according to protocol, the military says.
At least two of the missiles carried cluster bomb warheads, which spread bomblets over wide areas in central Israel. Several people were lightly injured and damage was caused in multiple locations.
Damage was reported to homes and vehicles in Rosh Haayin and Petah Tikva, rescue services say. In Bnei Brak, one impact appears to have struck a water pipe, causing damage.
IAF STRIKES IRANIAN MISSILE INFRASTRUCTURE: A large wave of Israeli Air Force strikes yesterday afternoon targeted some. The military assesses that Iran attempted to launch dozens more ballistic missiles at Israel in the past day, but the strikes thwarted those plans.
MISSILE UNIT COMMANDER AND BATTALION COMMANDERS ELIMINATED: IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said: “During the holiday, we eliminated Mukram Azimi, the commander of the ballistic missile unit in the Kermanshah area. Azimi was responsible for many missile launches at Israel.”
Defrin also said the IDF eliminated battalion commanders in Iran’s ballistic missile forces “who led the fire on Israel.”
In a separate statement, the IDF said it eliminated Makram Atimi, commander of a central missile unit in western Iran, in a precise strike in the Kermanshah area. The military said he was responsible for dozens of ballistic missile launches toward Israel.
The IDF also said additional battalion commanders from the ballistic missile unit responsible for launches from northwestern Iran were eliminated in another strike.
❌ TOP IRANIAN GENERAL LINKED TO OIL REVENUE ALSO ELIMINATED: The IDF confirmed the killing of Jamshid Eshaghi in an airstrike in Iran over the weekend. The military identified Eshaghi as the chief of Iran’s “oil headquarters.”
Officially, he served as head of budget and financial affairs at Iran’s armed forces general staff, which coordinates between the regular army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IDF said the oil headquarters is an integral part of the regime’s armed forces and enables continued military activity and buildup through oil profits.
The military said the IRGC and other military bodies in Iran have for years been financed through large budgets sourced from oil sales while circumventing international sanctions. Yesterday, the IRGC confirmed Eshaghi’s killing following the Israeli strike on Saturday.
