Extensive Israeli airstrikes across Tehran and Iran: The IDF says the Israeli Air Force completed an extensive wave of strikes targeting Iranian regime infrastructure in Tehran and additional areas across Iran.
Air force assets and airports targeted in Tehran: Overnight, dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck Iranian aircraft, helicopters, and additional military infrastructure at Bahram Airport, Mehrabad Airport, and Azmayesh Airport.
The IDF says the strikes were intended to damage both the Iranian Air Force and the IRGC Air Force, and that dozens of aircraft were destroyed.
Mehrabad Airport’s role in proxy support operations: According to the IDF, Mehrabad Airport served as a central hub for the IRGC Quds Force to arm and finance the regime’s terrorist proxies across the Middle East.
The military says aircraft carrying weapons and large sums of cash departed from the airport on numerous occasions for destinations across the region.
IRGC command and missile infrastructure struck: The Israeli Air Force also carried out intensive strikes against key IRGC infrastructure in Tehran over the past day.
The IDF says the targets included a central site responsible for suppressing the civilian population in Iran, key infrastructure at IRGC headquarters and the IRGC air force headquarters, ballistic missile storage and launch sites, and a site used to manufacture air defense systems.
⚠️ IDF issues unusual civilian warning in Iran: The IDF’s Persian-language spokesman, Lt. Col. (res.) Kamal Penhasi, warned Iranian civilians not to travel by train across Iran until 21:00 Iran time.
“Dear citizens, for your safety, we request that from this moment until 21:00 Iran time, you refrain from using and traveling by train across Iran,” he said.
“Your presence on trains and near railway lines puts your lives at risk,” he added.
⚠️ Iran launches cluster missile attack on Israel: Rescue forces and medics are responding to reports of impacts in central Israel following Iran’s latest ballistic missile attack.
The IDF says the missile fired at central Israel carried a cluster bomb warhead, and rescue services report damage caused by cluster submunitions.
Sirens also sounded in the Eilat area, where the IDF assesses another missile carrying a cluster bomb struck an open area.
There are no immediate reports of injuries.
Quds Force Unit 840 commander eliminated in Tehran: The Israeli Air Force, acting on precise IDF intelligence, eliminated Asghar Bagheri, commander of the Quds Force’s Special Operations Unit 840 since 2019.
According to the IDF, Bagheri held a series of senior positions in recent years and was involved in advancing attacks targeting Israeli and American individuals worldwide.
Bagheri’s operational role against Israel: The IDF says Bagheri planned and advanced terror attacks against the State of Israel, including operations inside Israel and in Syria and Lebanon.
Under his command, Unit 840 also advanced operations targeting IDF soldiers on the Syrian-Israel border using Syrian operatives who had previously served in Assad’s army.
Additional network details and operational impact: The IDF says these activities were led personally by Bagheri together with his deputy Mohammad Reza Ansari, and with the assistance of Qassem Salah al-Husseini, who was eliminated near Beirut in 2025.
It also says Bagheri worked to advance the transfer of weapons from Iran into the State of Israel.
His elimination is described by the IDF as a further blow to Unit 840’s ability to carry out terrorist attacks against the State of Israel and its civilians.
