⌛ PAKISTAN AWAITS IRAN’S DECISION ON TALKS: Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said, “Formal rsponse from Iranian side about confirmation of delegation to attend Islamabad Peace Talks is still awaited. Ceasefire ends at 4:50 am PST, 22 April.
Decision from Iran to attend the talks before the end of two weeks ceasefire is critical. Pakistan has made sincere efforts to convince the Iranian leadership to participate in the second round of talks and these efforts continue”.
️ IRAN SETS A CONDITION FOR PARTICIPATION: Iran has told mediators it will send a delegation to Islamabad for negotiations only if the U.S. lifts its blockade on Iranian ports, according to the WSJ.
⛔ U.S. SUSPENDS VANCE VISIT PENDING IRANIAN RESPONSE: Vice President JD Vance’s trip to Islamabad has been suspended after Iran refused to respond to U.S. negotiating positions. American officials say the trip can still proceed if Iran responds, according to the NYT.
IRAN REPORTS TANKER REACHED ITS WATERS UNDER NAVAL SUPPORT: An unconfirmed Iranian army report said an Iranian oil tanker entered territorial waters Monday night with the support of naval forces. According to the report, the tanker passed through the Arabian Sea despite repeated warnings and threats from a US naval group and is now stationed at one of Iran’s southern ports.
️ MOSSAD CHIEF REVEALS AGENT WAS KILLED DURING OPERATIONS AGAINST IRAN: Mossad Chief David Barnea revealed that a Mossad agent identified only as “M.” was killed abroad during operations against Iran. He did not specify the agent’s identity, when he died, or the exact incident, saying only that the death occurred outside Israel’s borders.
Following the announcement, Israeli media reported that M. died in Italy in 2023 while working with Italian intelligence to prevent Tehran from acquiring advanced weapons. He was reportedly killed on Lake Maggiore when a boat sank, resulting in his death along with two members of Italian intelligence and the captain’s wife.
He was later buried in Ashkelon that same year.
