⚔️ Political constraint on deeper operations: Channel 12 reports that Israeli political leadership has withheld approval for deep strikes into Lebanon at President Trump’s request, aiming to avoid disrupting ongoing negotiations with Iran, according to an Al Mayadeen report.
❗️ Hezbollah drone attack kills IDF soldier: Sergeant Idan Fooks, 19, from Petah Tikva, a fighter in the 77th Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade, was killed in battle in southern Lebanon by an explosive Hezbollah drone.
Six soldiers wounded: An officer and three soldiers were severely wounded, one soldier was moderately wounded, and another was lightly wounded. The wounded soldiers were evacuated to hospitals for treatment, and their families have been notified.
While the wounded troops were being evacuated, Hezbollah launched two more explosive drones at the forces. One was intercepted, while the second struck near the troops without causing additional injuries, according to an IDF probe.
️ Ceasefire context: Sergeant Idan Fooks is the third IDF soldier killed in southern Lebanon despite the ongoing ceasefire.
