⚠️ URGENT ISRAELI SECURITY CONSULTATION: Prime Minister Netanyahu and senior defense officials are holding an urgent telephone consultation following recent events off the coast of Iran. The Prime Minister is speaking with members of the security cabinet by phone regarding the developments.
IRANIAN FORCES ATTACKED U.S. WARSHIPS: The U.S. military stated that Iranian forces launched missiles, drones, and small boats at three American guided-missile destroyers transiting the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman.
CENTCOM identified the vessels as USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87).
CENTCOM stated: “Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones and small boats as USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason transited the international sea passage. No U.S. assets were struck.”
️ CENTCOM CARRIED OUT SELF-DEFENSE STRIKES: The American military confirmed carrying out “self-defense” strikes inside Iran following what it described as “unprovoked Iranian attacks” against U.S. Navy destroyers.
According to CENTCOM, U.S. forces intercepted the inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for the attacks, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control locations, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance nodes.
CENTCOM stated: “U.S. forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with self-defense strikes as U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Oman, May 7.”
CENTCOM added: “CENTCOM does not seek escalation but remains positioned and ready to protect American forces.”

️ ADDITIONAL REPORTS FROM THE REGION: Israeli Army Radio reported that U.S. destroyers later withdrew from the Strait of Hormuz after returning fire on Iranian targets.
FOX cited a senior American official saying the United States recently attacked Iran’s naval checkpoint in Minab.
The Deputy Governor of the Iranian city of Minab stated: “The US and the Zionist entity targeted a Coast Guard base in the city with no casualties.”
