According to the IRGC statement: “This morning, the aerospace force of the Revolutionary Guards targeted with 12 ballistic missiles the positions of American F-35, F-15, and F-16 fighter jets, as well as important facilities of the terrorist American army, located in the Al-Azraq air base and its control center. Those facilities and a large number of fighter jets were destroyed.”
The IRGC further claimed it targeted five military bases across Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain: • Muwaffaq Al Salti Air Base
• Ahmed Al Jaber Air Base
• Ali Al Salem Air Base
• Naval Support Activity Bahrain
• Sheikh Isa Air Base
Jordan’s military said it intercepted 20 ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward the Al-Azraq base. Interceptions were also reported near Muwaffaq Al Salti Air Base.

The statement said: “From this moment on, due to insecurity in the region, the Strait of Hormuz is declared closed to the passage of any type of vessel, including oil tankers and commercial vessels, and any traffic will be targeted.”
Iranian media also claimed two vessels were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz and reported that Iran has begun mining the waterway.
A U.S. official denied any naval skirmishes between U.S. forces and the IRGC Navy. CENTCOM also denied reports that U.S. Navy destroyers had been attacked and stated it continues escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
UKMTO reported an incident 21 nautical miles northeast of Sohar, Oman, involving a tanker fire in the engine room. No environmental impact was reported.
Additional military claims The IRGC claimed Iranian air defense forces fired a missile at a U.S. Air Force F-16 over the Persian Gulf, forcing the aircraft to take evasive action.
Iranian military spokesman Brigadier General Abu al-Fadl Shakarchi said claims regarding the destruction of Iran’s air defense systems “should not be taken seriously.”
According to him: “The true measure is the reality on the battlefield, not the statements and claims spread in the media.”
Ceasefire and negotiations CNN reported that negotiations between the U.S. and Iran are continuing despite the overnight exchange of strikes.
President Trump stated: “If they don’t make a deal, we’ll bomb the shit out of them tomorrow again.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said the latest U.S. strikes have rendered the ceasefire “practically meaningless.”
President Trump later claimed the strikes could stop soon after Iranian diplomats contacted him seeking a new ceasefire.
Iranian officials speaking to IRIB denied that any contact with President Trump had taken place since the fighting resumed.
Polymarket showed the chances of a peace deal being reached by the end of July dropping to 31%.
