⚠️ President Trump also said Iran would be allowed to enrich uranium only to a low level, with a reported 15–20 year prohibition. He added that if no agreement is reached within 60 days, the U.S. would return to war.
Critics warned that if Iran can enrich uranium to 3%, it can eventually enrich to 90%, with the only question being how long it would take and how Iran would again conceal its activity.
The criticism focused on the agreement leaving Iran with uranium enrichment capability, immediate sanctions relief, its ballistic missile program, and its proxy network.
Netanyahu reportedly informed President Trump that Israel will not pull IDF forces from Lebanon and does not consider itself bound by the Lebanon clause in the U.S.-Iran agreement.
Iran also stated that the ceasefire includes Lebanon.
An Israeli security official told Yedioth Ahronoth:
“PM Netanyahu may have believed that an attack on Dahiyeh could trigger an escalation, worsen the situation, and ultimately derail the negotiations with Iran”.
Defense Minister Katz spoke with his American counterpart during the developments.

“Trump’s agreement does not bind us. Israel is obligated to defend its citizens and soldiers. Israel is not subordinate to the United States — we are an independent and sovereign country. My position is clear: we are not partners to this agreement, which does not ensure our security, and it is not binding upon us in any way. We must not compromise on anything less than the dismantling of Hezbollah; we must not withdraw from any territory our fighters have captured and cleared of terrorist infrastructure; we must not return to a situation where thousands of terrorists sit on the fences of northern communities; and we must certainly not remain silent in the face of any fire directed at the State of Israel.”
⚓ Additional criticism focused on the Strait of Hormuz arrangement.
The Strait of Hormuz was open at the beginning of the war. Under the reported arrangement, it would now be managed by a joint corporation involving Iran and Oman.
The broader concern is the message projected by the reported end of the American war in Iran: that the free world, through a confused America, was unable to properly conclude a nearly casualty-free war against a weak and battered adversary that openly declares its ambition to destroy it.
That message is now echoing from Beijing to Moscow, from Pyongyang to Tehran.
