FULL TEXT OF U.S.-IRAN MEMORANDUM RELEASED: Bloomberg has published the full text of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
According to the document, Iran agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and issued a declaration that it would not produce nuclear weapons.
In return, the memorandum provides for the lifting of sanctions, removal of the naval blockade, immediate oil-export exemptions, release of frozen Iranian funds, creation of a $300 billion reconstruction fund, U.S.-backed efforts to end the war in Lebanon, and approval through the UN Security Council.
Israeli critics argue the agreement grants extensive economic and political concessions while relying largely on Iranian declarations regarding nuclear weapons. Critics also contend that reopening the Strait of Hormuz appears to validate Tehran’s use of maritime pressure as leverage during negotiations.
️ ISRAELI ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS IRANIAN INTENTIONS: According to Channel 12, Israeli intelligence assesses that Mojtaba Khamenei has no intention of signing a final nuclear agreement and accepted the framework primarily to secure economic relief and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without making meaningful nuclear concessions.
Security officials reportedly warned that Iran could use the 60-day negotiation period to prolong talks while continuing to advance its nuclear breakout capability.
The report also notes that the situation has raised debate over whether Israeli objections are driven primarily by security concerns or by frustration at being sidelined during negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
❗️ NBC: IRANIAN DRONES TARGETED SHIPPING AFTER AGREEMENT: According to a senior American official cited by NBC, Iran has launched several drones toward merchant vessels every night since the memorandum of understanding was digitally signed on Sunday.
The drones were reportedly launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, while U.S. forces intercepted them before they reached their targets.
CHINA OFFERS MEDIATION AND AID: China’s Foreign Ministry stated:
“We are committed to facilitating talks between Washington and Tehran, and we will soon provide a batch of humanitarian aid to Iran and Lebanon.”
PAKISTAN FACILITATING RETURN OF IRANIAN NATIONALS: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan is facilitating the repatriation of 30 Iranian nationals.
The group includes eight Iranian fishermen rescued by the British vessel MMA Valour after their boat ran aground and 22 Iranian crew members from the vessel Lenore/Davina, which was recently interdicted by U.S. authorities.
Both groups are expected to transit through Karachi before returning to Iran. Dar said Pakistan remains in close coordination with Iranian, U.S., and UK authorities and remains committed to humanitarian cooperation.
REZA PAHLAVI CALLS FOR SUPPORT OF IRANIAN PEOPLE: Reza Pahlavi, son of Iran’s last Shah, urged the international community to support the Iranian people rather than the Iranian regime during negotiations.
“The international community should back the people of Iran’s fight for freedom. Put them center in any negotiations and in their Iran policy.”
He added:
“But let me be clear — with or without international support — this regime will fall. The people of Iran will liberate themselves from tyranny.”
