ISRAEL SAYS LEBANON DECISIONS COORDINATED WITH U.S.: Israeli Channel 12 reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz coordinated the decision to halt fighting in Lebanon with the United States.
BENNETT DEFENDS IDF OPERATIONS: Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett responded to criticism from Piers Morgan, stating: “Piers, the IDF is operating in accordance with international law against Hezbollah, a terrorist organization that is hell-bent on killing Israelis. U.S.-IRAN TALKS CONTINUE: Vice President JD Vance expressed confidence in maintaining the Iran ceasefire established under the June 2026 agreement, stating: “I’m very confident we can maintain the ceasefire.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated: “The source of every major problem in the Middle East is the Islamic regime in Iran.”
Vance said he expects to travel to Switzerland within days, where Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are already participating in negotiations.
According to Vance, the talks are focused on preventing reconstruction of Iran’s nuclear program through economic and strategic pressure. He stated: “The US has all the cards, the strait is now open, Iranian military is now destroyed..they are committed to destroy their stockpile of enriched material, but we have a lot of economic pressure applied to Iranians that we are willing to relieve only if they do what we need em to do..”
⚓ IRAN ANNOUNCES HORMUZ CLOSURE: Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters and IRGC Navy announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, citing alleged U.S. violations of ceasefire commitments, continued Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon, and Israel’s failure to withdraw from southern Lebanon.
Iranian statements described the closure as the “first step” and warned that additional measures could follow if the alleged violations continue.
The IRGC Navy stated: “The Strait of Hormuz is closed, and vessels should not approach it. Otherwise, their security will be at risk.”
An IRGC Navy radio message near the Strait of Hormuz stated: “Due to Israeli actions in Lebanon and U.S. violations of its commitments, the Strait of Hormuz is closed to navigation. All vessels are instructed to remain clear of the area for their own safety.”
