NETANYAHU SAYS ISRAEL MUST BUILD INDEPENDENT ARMAMENTS PRODUCTION WHILE CONTINUING THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST IRAN AND ITS PROXIES: Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israel’s future security and strategic position depend on maintaining and expanding its national strength as it continues confronting Iran and its proxies.
“Right now, we are standing against Iran and its proxies. We have dealt them blows. It is not over yet, but it depends on our strength,” Netanyahu said.
He added that “Where we will be 30 years from now depends on our strength,” arguing that Israel must continue building military power, integrating advanced technologies, and developing future generations of commanders.
Netanyahu called for greater Israeli defense self-sufficiency, saying the country should reduce dependence on external suppliers by expanding domestic weapons production and defense capabilities.
“I deeply appreciate the support we have received, and which I have also brought over the years, from our American friends,” Netanyahu said.
He continued: “Today I say: We need our own independent armaments network. We must manufacture our own armaments. To break free from dependency, to build more and more power, to integrate more and more technology, and to train more and more generations of commanders like you, because that is what will ultimately determine where we will be.”
According to Netanyahu, expanding independent production, technological capabilities, and military leadership development will be critical factors shaping Israel’s long-term security posture.
Netanyahu concluded: “With G-d’s help and with your help, we will be in a good place.”
SHEKEL WEAKENS AGAINST THE DOLLAR: The U.S. dollar traded near ₪3 for the first time in nearly three months.
The shekel weakened against the dollar amid support for the U.S. currency from expectations surrounding a possible Iran-U.S. agreement and concerns regarding Israel’s complications in Lebanon. The euro also strengthened.
⚓ IRAN SEEKS GREATER CONTROL OVER STRAIT OF HORMUZ: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf said the Strait of Hormuz “will never go back to what it was before the war.”
