️ IRAN EXPANDS SUSPECTED UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR FACILITY: CNN reports that satellite imagery shows a significant increase in construction during 2026 at Pickaxe Mountain, a suspected Iranian nuclear facility buried deep inside a granite mountain near Natanz.
The facility is believed to be intended to protect centrifuges or enrichment-related activities from existing U.S. bunker-busting weapons. CSIS analysts assess that it is not yet operational, but construction has shifted from excavation toward internal buildout and hardening.
President Trump threatened to strike the site, saying, “we may hit Pickaxe very soon”. Questions facing Pentagon officials concern whether the U.S. military’s largest non-nuclear bomb could penetrate deeply enough to strike the buried facility.
The Pentagon is exploring new capabilities, including a next-generation penetrator bomb. Shortly before the war, a weapons-of-mass-destruction agency signed an emergency contract to repair an underground granite facility at White Sands that could be used to simulate strikes against deeply buried Iranian bunkers, according to CNN.
⚠️ TRUMP ADDRESSES IRAN WAR, NEGOTIATIONS AND OIL PRICES: President Trump said the war with Iran would end immediately after the U.S. midterm elections: “We are not looking for negotiations with Iran. A negotiation could possibly happen, but it is not something we are looking at. This war will end immediately after our election”
Discussing the consequences of Iran possessing a nuclear weapon, Trump said: “If Iran had a nuclear weapon, I would be calling the Supreme Leader. I would be saying, ‘Mr. Supreme Leader, how are you, sir? Is there anything we can do for you?’”
A reporter said: “We’ve seen a lot of attacks in the Strait of Hormuz”. Trump responded: “The attacks are made by us. You are gonna see a lot more”.
Asked, “You said that oil and gas prices were going to come down. Oil is now back above 100 dollars. How do you explain this to Americans?” Trump replied: “It is very easy to explain to Americans: all you have to do is say, will you let Iran have a nuclear weapon? The answer is no”.
U.S. AIRCRAFT DAMAGED IN IRANIAN STRIKES IN JORDAN: An A-10 lost a wing and around eight F-15s sustained minor damage in last night’s Iranian strikes on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, according to CBS News. The F-15s were able to return to service.
⚓ DRONE STRIKES TANKER IN IRAQI WATERS: The Panama-flagged vessel was carrying approximately 2 million barrels of Iraqi fuel oil when the strike sparked a fire onboard, Reuters reported. No casualties were reported among its 22 crew members.
️ IRAN EXCHANGES OIL FOR CHINESE GOODS: The barter-like mechanism bypasses international banking channels, according to Reuters. Around $2–2.5 billion has flowed through a special-purpose vehicle over the past year, financing imports of medicine, vehicles, communications equipment and some military-related goods.
️ NORTHERN ISRAEL AIRCRAFT ALERTS WERE FALSE IDENTIFICATION: The sirens sounded shortly after midnight in several areas of northern Israel, warning of a hostile aircraft infiltration.
ISRAEL OPENS EMBASSY IN SLOVENIA: Sa’ar inaugurated the embassy following the change of government in Ljubljana. It is Israel’s fifth embassy inaugurated in a year and a half.
