Delegations walk out as Netanyahu begins UN address: Prime Minister Netanyahu was booed as he began his UN General Assembly speech, with many foreign delegations leaving the hall amid chants of “Am Yisrael Chai” (“The people of Israel live”). He urged any remaining delegates he considered moral cowards to leave. The UAE representative remained in the hall.
Israeli delegation members were seen moving through the General Assembly hall, checking which delegations had left during the speech.
Addressing New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Netanyahu said: “Mr. Mamdani, you tried to stop me from coming here. You tried to silence me? Well, you can’t silence me. You can’t silence the truth”.
⚠️ Netanyahu’s claims about Iran and regional defense: Netanyahu said: “Now, you want to hear the ultimate irony? Israel is also defending many of the countries whose delegates just left this hall. In fact, I want you to know that many of their leaders even thank us privately for taking out Iran’s nukes”.
He added: “With our great American friends, we crushed Iran’s army, navy, air force, and nuclear facilities”. Netanyahu said the day of the Iranian regime’s fall was not far off and that its fall would be celebrated.
Illustrating the destructive power of ballistic missiles, he said: “Ladies and gentlemen, you’re sitting here in the General Assembly Hall of the UN. Do you know what just one one-ton ballistic missile would do if it hit this place? It would obliterate the entire compound. In fact, two such missiles would obliterate the UN”.
⚠️ Beeper displayed in reference to Hezbollah: Netanyahu brought a beeper to the General Assembly and said: “You remember the beepers? Remember these things? Remember them? Well, I can tell you this, Hezbollah certainly remembers them”.
Golan Heights remarks directed at Syria’s president: Addressing Syrian President al-Sharaa, Netanyahu said: “Mr. al-Sharaa, you should know the Jews have been on the Golan Heights since the days of Moses. You can read it in the Bible”.
Responses to accusations against Israel: Netanyahu said: “They accuse Israel — tiny Israel — of colonialism. And who’s accusing us? Among them, people in Britain and in France. For God’s sakes, they invented the term — their colonies braced the entire globe. Colonialism? Give us a break”.
Addressing settler violence, he claimed there were perhaps two victims a year, compared with thousands of attacks from the other side.
He also said: “The most moral army in the world: the IDF”.
Accusations against Qatar and Turkey: Netanyahu said: “There’s an eighth front to this war. It’s the war for truth. It is waged in the world’s media and, most perniciously, in social media. Several foreign countries have spent untold billions to spread lies about my country. The first to do so was Qatar, decades ago. It started massively funding American universities and toxic media outlets like Al Jazeera. They did the same in Europe, by the way. And their goal was clear: brainwash young minds to hate Israel, hate America, hate the West”.
He continued: “Now, the latest country to become a super spreader of antisemitic lies is Turkey: Erdogan. Erdogan calls for Israel’s destruction. Almost every single day, he says he’s going to be the ruler of Jerusalem. No, sir, you won’t. This is our country, our city, our eternal capital”.
Uganda tribute and closing remarks: Netanyahu said: “I want to thank Uganda for recently erecting a statue of my brother Jonathan Netanyahu in the place where he fell”.
“The Eternal One of Israel will not lie,” Netanyahu said, concluding his 40-minute speech.
