Trump rejects Iran proposal: The Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump rejected Iran’s proposal for a seven-day ceasefire and told aides he expects U.S. bombing of Iran to resume after the November midterm elections. Under the proposal, the Strait of Hormuz would reopen and nuclear talks would resume in exchange for the U.S. lifting its blockade of Iranian ports and easing economic pressure on Tehran.
Trump told reporters, “They made a proposal that I rejected.” When a reporter asked, “Will you strike Iran after the midterms?” Trump replied: “I’m rejecting their deal. They want to make a deal where they open the Strait immediately because they’re losing so badly. They want to make a deal, and I think that’s fine. I like making a deal, too, but that deal would not be acceptable”.
According to Axios, U.S. negotiators told Iran during Tuesday’s talks that ‘Tehran does not control the Strait of Hormuz and therefore cannot make demands regarding its reopening’.
A senior Iranian official told Reuters: “Iran will make no nuclear concessions even if the U.S. accepts Tehran’s proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until Iran’s conditions are met”.

Trump responds to press-pool question: Asked whether he wanted only supportive outlets in the White House press pool, Trump denied it, saying he supported “an open, free press” but wanted “real news, not fake news.”
Iran denies reports of renewed talks with U.S.: Fars News Agency reported Iran’s denial of reports by Axios and Al Jazeera about a new round of Iran-U.S. talks. An informed Iranian source described Western media reports of renewed negotiations as false and claimed they were intended to influence markets and oil prices. The source also denied reports that Iranian technical experts were being sent to New York to participate in the talks.
️ Military chiefs meet in Riyadh under Mecca Alliance: Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia held a meeting attended by Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and Saudi Chief of General Staff Gen. Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili.
Turkish President Erdogan said: “It would not be correct to view the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement as an alliance established against Iran, Israel or any third country. This agreement is an expression of our shared responsibility to build a safer, peaceful and prosperous future”.
Erdogan addresses Israeli rhetoric about Turkey: Erdogan said: “Recently, a misguided narrative aimed at portraying Turkey as a new source of threat has been fueled in Israel. We consider this rhetoric to be linked to Israel’s domestic political dynamics and the electoral climate. Turkey has no hostility toward the Israeli people or toward any other society. What we oppose are policies that we consider contrary to international law and steps that deepen instability in our region”.
️ Lavrov says moving S-400s abroad requires Russian consent: Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said: “Our Turkish friends know perfectly well that the S-400 systems were supplied under a contract that provides full respect for the end-user certificate. They know perfectly well that if they ever want to move these systems somewhere outside their borders, they cannot do so without our official consent. There has been no such request to us”.
