Islamic Jihad rocket operative eliminated: The IDF said it struck the Khan Yunis area yesterday and eliminated Bilal Mahmoud Suleiman Samiri, a terrorist in the rocket array of the Khan Younis Brigade in Islamic Jihad’s military wing.
According to the IDF, Samiri advanced terror attacks in systematic violation of the ceasefire and carried out ambushes targeting IDF troops operating near the Yellow Line. The military said he was eliminated to remove the threat he posed. Its announcement also referenced footage of his elimination.
Two October 7 infiltrators eliminated: In a strike in Gaza City on Tuesday, the IDF eliminated Muhammad Jamal Mahmoud Abu Al-Shaar, a cell commander in Hamas’ military wing. According to the military, he infiltrated Kibbutz Be’eri during the October 7 massacre and took part in the abduction of Sharon Hertzman-Avigdori, Noam Avigdori, Adi Shoham, Nave Shoham, Yahel Shoham, and Shoshan Haran to the Gaza Strip.
In a separate strike in Jabalia that Tuesday, the IDF eliminated Musab Abd al-Jalil Saqib Balbisi, a commander in Islamic Jihad’s military wing who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre.
The IDF said both terrorists had recently advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians in systematic violation of the ceasefire. It said they were eliminated to remove the threats they posed.
️ Northern Gaza commander’s role in hostage captivity: Following extensive intelligence research, the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) revealed that Izz al-Din Bik, the commander of Hamas’ Northern Gaza Brigade who was eliminated earlier this week, was responsible for holding Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity during the war.
Before becoming brigade commander, Bik served as commander of Hamas’ Western Jabalia Battalion and head of the Northern Gaza Brigade’s military intelligence headquarters. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, he advanced and financed numerous attacks against Israeli civilians in those roles and was among the founders of Hamas’ Nukhba forces in northern Gaza. He also commanded and participated in the infiltration into Israeli territory on the morning of the October 7 massacre.
Throughout the war, in his capacity as the commander responsible for northern Gaza, Bik was responsible for holding numerous hostages in Hamas captivity, including Mia Schem, Hisham al-Sayed, Amit Buskila, Uriel Baruch, Corporal Nik Beizer, Sergeant Ron Sherman, Elia Toledano, Shani Louk, Michel Nisenbaum, Staff Sergeant Tamir Nimrodi, Yitzhak Gelerenter, Eitan Levy, Hanan Yablonka, Ron Benjamin, and Orion Hernandez, the IDF and Shin Bet said.
The IDF and Shin Bet described his elimination as an important moment of closure and said they would continue to act decisively against terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre.
