⚓ Netanyahu visits Ashdod naval base: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz received briefings today from the Navy’s Chief of Staff and the Ashdod base commander on maritime challenges and the southern naval sector’s operations, including its routine security squadron and landing craft company. They also viewed weapons used by the sector to counter threats in defensive and offensive operations.

Netanyahu said: “I am visiting the naval base in Ashdod today together with the Defense Minister and Navy commanders. I am impressed by the strength, the people, the equipment. We know that the maritime domain has effectively become an international battlefield. You see this in the Strait of Hormuz, you see it, of course, in Bab el-Mandeb, and our enemies want to threaten our maritime domain in the Mediterranean, our seaports and our maritime traffic. Of course, we will not allow this to happen.

“I heard from defense officials that they need more equipment. A sixth submarine has arrived in Israel, and they want more; more vessels, more equipment of other kinds that I do not intend to detail here. But I will tell you one thing: in this area as well, on the surface and underwater, I intend for Israel to be one of the world’s leaders in this field of warfare. We will protect the State of Israel from the sea as well.”

 IDF reports elimination of Nukhba terrorist who directed aid organization: The IDF said it eliminated Saqr Nabil Musa Qaisi in a strike in Khan Younis earlier today. It identified him as a Hamas Nukhba terrorist who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre.

According to the IDF, Qaisi also served as director of the Turkish organization Deniz Feneri, which presents itself as a humanitarian aid organization but maintains ties with senior Hamas leaders and elements within the Turkish leadership. The IDF said he regularly employed numerous terrorists through the organization and provided financial support to Hamas terrorists.

The IDF accused the organization and its senior figures of presenting their activities as humanitarian efforts while promoting fundraising for Hamas. It described this as exploitation of the humanitarian sphere to support terrorist activity and advance Hamas’ operations under a humanitarian guise.

The IDF said Qaisi had advanced terrorist activities against Israeli troops and civilians recently and throughout the war, while working to restore Hamas’ capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire. It said he was eliminated to remove the threat he posed.

The IDF said it continues efforts to disrupt financing supporting Hamas’ military activities to prevent the restoration of its infrastructure and military capabilities.

 IDF reports two additional Hamas eliminations: The IDF said it eliminated Muad Gamal Abu Nuseira, a commander in Hamas’ military wing, in a strike in Khan Younis earlier today.

In a separate strike yesterday, the IDF said it eliminated Mahmoud Ibrahim Dib Alyan, a terrorist in Hamas’ observation unit. According to the IDF, Alyan had recently been identified advancing terrorist activities against Israeli troops near the Yellow Line and working to restore Hamas’ capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement. He was eliminated in an aerial strike.
