❌ Second terrorist apprehended after Ramon attack attempt: Following a joint pursuit by security forces, IDF soldiers guided by Shin Bet apprehended the second terrorist involved in the attempted stabbing attack near the Ramon area, along with an additional suspect involved in the attempt. The accompanying statement said security forces would act against any attempt to harm Israeli civilians.
️ Rabbi Landau’s remarks on the state and soldiers: Rabbi Landau, the leader of the Lithuanian Haredi community, said: “It would have been better if [the state] had never been established and we had remained under the Mandate; the Religious Zionist fighters are being killed because of a distorted Torah.”
⚖️ Compensation ordered over Efi Nave’s phone breach: After seven and a half years, Judge Oren Schwartz has ordered Hadas Steif and Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) to pay former Israel Bar Association chairman Efi Nave approximately NIS 600,000 in compensation for breaking into his mobile phone and using materials obtained through the offense.
️ CHANNEL 12 POLL PUTS NETANYAHU BLOC AT 49 SEATS AS WINTER FALLS BELOW ELECTORAL THRESHOLD: Party and bloc projections. The new Channel 12 / Manu Geva-Midgam poll projects 49 seats for Netanyahu’s bloc, down from 50. The non-Arab opposition remains at 54, seven short of a majority, while the Arab parties gain one seat to reach 13. Hendel-Zelekha’s four seats are counted separately.
The party breakdown is: Eisenkot’s Yashar 23, Likud 21, Bennett’s Beyachad 13, Democrats 9, Yisrael Beiteinu 9, Joint List 8, UTJ 8, Shas 7, Otzma Yehudit 7, Religious Zionism-Zehut 6, Ra’am 5 and Hendel-Zelekha 4.
Ofer Winter’s Amcha Yisrael receives 1.5%, below the 3.25% electoral threshold.
Changes since September 22: Compared with Channel 12’s September 22 poll, Eisenkot and Bennett are unchanged. Likud rises from 20 to 21 seats, Otzma Yehudit from 6 to 7 and Religious Zionism-Zehut from 5 to 6. Winter’s fall from four seats to below threshold outweighs those gains, reducing Netanyahu’s bloc by one seat.
The non-Arab opposition remains unchanged, the Arab parties gain one seat and Hendel-Zelekha remain at four. Eisenkot’s lead over Likud narrows from three seats to two, while Likud’s lead over Bennett widens from seven to eight.
️ Leadership matchups unchanged: In the head-to-head leadership figures, Eisenkot continues to lead Netanyahu 41% to 38%, while Netanyahu leads Bennett 41% to 37%. These percentages are separate from the seat projections.
⚠️ Winter’s threshold risk across pollsters: Yesterday’s Kan/Kantar poll also placed Winter below threshold, as did a recent Channel 14 poll. However, the latest Maariv/Lazar and i24/Direct Polls surveys gave him four seats. His threshold risk therefore extends beyond one poll, but the findings remain mixed and do not yet establish a settled trend.
Winter’s loss of representation accounts for Netanyahu’s bloc decline in Channel 12’s comparison, while Eisenkot and Bennett remain stable. Religious Zionism-Zehut’s rise to six seats provides a stronger cushion in this poll, while Hendel-Zelekha remain at the minimum parliamentary foothold of four.
燐 Coalition arithmetic remains difficult: The non-Arab opposition’s 54 seats would reach 58 with Hendel-Zelekha and 63 if Ra’am also joined that combination. Netanyahu’s 49 would reach only 53 with Hendel-Zelekha. These are numerical combinations, not evidence of coalition agreements.
The one-seat decline leaves Netanyahu’s bloc further from 61, while Hendel-Zelekha’s four seats remain insufficient to give either bloc a majority.
