️ Hamas commander involved in holding hostages eliminated: Earlier this week, the IDF struck in the Gaza City area and eliminated Muhammad Muhsen Nimr Yazji, a commander in the Shati Battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization’s military wing. Throughout the war, he was involved in holding hostages in the Gaza City Brigade area, including Emily Damari, Romi Gonen and Matan Angrest.
In a separate strike a few days ago in the Sabra area, the IDF eliminated Muhammad Fawzi Muhammad Awad Gamal, a terrorist in Hamas’ Daraj Tuffah Battalion.
The terrorists had recently advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and worked to restore the terrorist organization’s capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire. The aerial strikes were carried out to remove the threat they posed.
️ Captain Eliav Haim Tzapalamus falls in southern Lebanon: The IDF cleared for publication the name of Captain Eliav Haim Tzapalamus, 21, from Haifa, after notifying his family. A combat officer in the 603rd Battalion of the 7th Brigade, he fell in combat in southern Lebanon.
Three IDF soldiers were lightly injured in the same incident and evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment. Their families were notified.
⚖️ Life sentence for the terrorist who killed Amit Ben Yigal: A military court in Samaria on Thursday sentenced Nazmi Abu Bakr to life imprisonment and ordered him to pay more than ₪4 million in compensation for killing Staff Sergeant Amit Ben Yigal during operational activity in Ya’bad on May 12, 2020, the IDF said.
Abu Bakr was convicted on May 11, 2026, of intentionally causing death, the equivalent of murder offenses in Judea and Samaria, and obstruction of justice. After hearing testimony from prosecution witnesses and Abu Bakr, the court accepted the Military Prosecution’s position.
The court found that, during an operation to arrest wanted individuals, Abu Bakr threw half a brick weighing nine to eleven kilograms from a rooftop toward IDF soldiers with the intention of killing them. It struck Ben Yigal and caused his death.
Abu Bakr fled home and pretended to be asleep to prevent security forces from locating him. After the forces left, he returned to the scene, collected pieces of the brick and threw them to the side of the path to obstruct the investigation.
The Military Prosecution pledged to continue pursuing full accountability. The IDF said it shares the bereaved family’s profound grief and will continue to stand by them.
️ Segev Shalom terror plot uncovered: The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) uncovered a serious terror plot involving five suspects from Segev Shalom, arrested during May and June 2026 on suspicion of planning terrorist activities and establishing an armed battalion in the town, inspired by militant battalions operating in Judea and Samaria.
The cell members planned attacks including a shooting against the Segev Shalom police station and a stabbing and shooting attack at Beersheba’s central bus station.
Herzog honors six people who prevented flydubai attack: One week after the incident, President Herzog awarded the “President’s Medal for Civilian Bravery” to six men and women who prevented the terrorist attack on a flydubai aircraft.
