❌ Security forces target associations linked to terrorist groups: The IDF and Shin Bet said security forces apprehended five operatives who collaborated with Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during operations in Ramallah and Yatta. According to their statement, the associations had been designated unlawful and served as offices and organizational and financial arms of the terrorist groups.
On Tuesday, forces raided the Addameer association’s offices in Ramallah, apprehending wanted individuals and confiscating computers, documents and checkbooks bearing markings associated with designated Hamas funds. The statement said Addameer receives terrorist funding and provides legal assistance to imprisoned PFLP terrorists. It also said some terrorists working at the association participated in the August 23, 2019, attack at Danny Spring, in which Rina Shnerb was murdered.
In a separate operation in recent weeks, IDF soldiers acting on Shin Bet intelligence raided the Islamic Association for the Care of Orphans in Yatta, in the Judea area. Wanted individuals were apprehended, and materials bearing markings associated with designated Hamas funds were confiscated. The detainees and seized materials were transferred to security forces for further investigation.
According to the statement, the Yatta association transferred funds to Hamas, supported terrorists’ and prisoners’ families, and exploited its purported civilian activities to strengthen Hamas’s standing in the town. Its director and other senior officials were described as Hamas terrorists who had previously been imprisoned.
The IDF and Shin Bet said both associations supported and advanced terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria. Security forces said they would continue proactive and offensive operations against terrorism and those seeking to harm Israeli civilians or security personnel.
⚖️ Bar files defamation suit against Netanyahu: Former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar filed a NIS 3 million defamation lawsuit against Netanyahu, alleging: “He fabricated a blood libel to pin the blame for October 7 on me.”
Bar submitted materials to the court that he says prove he delivered two “dramatic series” of warnings to Netanyahu in April and July 2023. “I waited silently for three years for the establishment of a commission of inquiry, all while facing an ongoing smear campaign. In light of the prime minister’s unrestrained outburst, I have decided not to remain silent,” Bar said.
Bar also alleges that, on the eve of October 7, “government officials” proposed allowing Hamas to take control of Judea and Samaria.
Netanyahu responded that Bar saw warning signs on the night of October 7 but did not call him, and now claims he lacked Netanyahu’s phone number. Netanyahu said Bar had his secure red phone number and could have called immediately, as other security chiefs do. He added that his round-the-clock Shin Bet guards, who were Bar’s subordinates, could have reached him within minutes.
“How many lives could we have saved if only you had called in time?” Netanyahu asked.
⚖️ Prison sentence for spying and weapons smuggling: A resident of a dispersed Bedouin community in the Negev was sentenced to 24½ years in prison for assisting a Gaza-based terrorist organization by spying on military bases and smuggling weapons.
He also enlisted in the IDF on the organization’s orders to gather sensitive information.
