✈️ CNN reports potential MOAB use against Iran: The U.S. military has developed strike plans that could involve using the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), the largest non-nuclear bomb in the U.S. arsenal, against Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear sites if President Trump orders combat operations to resume before or after the U.S. midterm elections, CNN reported.
A source told CNN that plans for strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, including the Pickaxe Mountain facility, explicitly include possible MOAB use. Deploying the weapon, known as the “Mother of All Bombs,” would mark its first use in the conflict with Iran.
⚠️ Katz warns Hezbollah against joining an Iranian attack: During a visit to Lebanon, Defense Minister Israel Katz warned: “If Hezbollah joins Iran in an attack on Israel, the Shiite community in Lebanon could face destruction.”
Katz also said: “The IDF is prepared to seize additional territory in Lebanon should Hezbollah join Iran in an attack on Israel. The southern suburbs of Beirut will be evacuated if Hezbollah joins Iran in any attack on Israel”.
️ Netanyahu addresses prospects for regime change: A reporter asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “Is regime change in Iran realistic before the Israeli elections?”
Netanyahu replied: “No, I don’t think that’s realistic. I say it is essential to overthrow this regime. We’ve done a great deal. We’ve crushed it. They’re at the weakest point they’ve ever been. But we need to finish the job”.
Reuters reports expanded Iranian shipping attacks: Iran has adopted tactics involving more frequent attacks on commercial shipping and expanded operations beyond the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf of Oman and waters near Qatar and the UAE, Reuters reported, citing two senior Iranian officials.
According to the officials, the strategy aims to keep oil prices high ahead of the November U.S. midterm elections. At least five shipping incidents have been reported over the past 48 hours.
Herzog meets Azerbaijani and Chinese officials: President Isaac Herzog arrived in Azerbaijan today for an official visit and met President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
On the sidelines of the CICA Summit, Herzog also met China’s foreign minister, emphasizing the strategic threats facing Israel in the region, particularly from Iran and its terrorist proxies.
