️ Lieberman and Tibi address Knesset moves: Avigdor Lieberman said: “I’ve received quite a few requests. I have absolutely no desire or intention of becoming Speaker of the Knesset.”
Ahmad Tibi promised Eisenkot support for replacing the Knesset speaker. He also pledged not to support Likud-initiated no-confidence motions or initiate legislation to dissolve the Knesset. “We want to make things easier, not harder.”
Yashar! claimed its members had received calls from ministers and Knesset members, naming Almog Cohen, Yoav Kisch, Yaakov Bardugo and others among those making contact. The party said: “The entire public can see how worried you are about losing.”
Lapid asks for patience during government negotiations: Segal reported that Lapid wrote on social media: “I ask for your patience.”
Lapid continued: “Now comes the really difficult part: trying to form a government. We owe it to those who stood in line on Tuesday, to those who flew in especially to vote, and to those who stood outside polling stations for eight hours persuading people.”
He added: “It will be difficult. I have no guarantees. This is not an exact science, or even mechanics; it is a complicated political process. But we have one thing we didn’t have on Monday morning: an overwhelming Israeli majority that has made it clear this is what it wants.”
“If you want to know whether something is happening behind the silence you’re hearing right now, the answer is yes.”
Segal questions reports of a United Torah Judaism partnership: In his analysis, Segal argued that rumors and leaks about a government involving Eisenkot, his partners and United Torah Judaism served the ultra-Orthodox parties’ efforts to rebuild their legitimacy after being made scapegoats in recent years. He suggested this could also help legitimize a future partnership with Likud.
Segal criticized Drucker and his associates for promoting what he viewed as capitulation to the ultra-Orthodox parties without recognizing the political maneuver. He questioned whether Eisenkot understood the risk, comparing it to what he described as the tactic used against Tzipi Livni in 2009.
